"Oh my Goddess!" Zoe cried as the first fireballs struck. Like Jenna, she could feel the suffering in the city even
before she followed people outside to see what disaster had actually befallen Angel Grove.

As Kane watched the fireballs descend from the now blackened sky, he instinctively placed his hands atop Zoe's shoulders in a protective gesture.
What's... Going on? His mind seemed to run away from him for a moment, in a vain attempt to rationalize the apocalyptic scenario playing out before him as some kind of horrifically complex mass hallucination. But that was naturally a futile venture, and soon his body began to quake violently with fear. 'Dad.' He whispered. |

Malach hit the brake as he saw fireballs raining down from the sky. He twisted his steering wheel to the left and his car slid sideways. Slamming on his gas
once again, his back tires squealed as he shot back down the way he came. The only thought that came to his mind was to make sure that everyone was safe, and
the closest person he knew was at the school; Lacie Kent. His car hit the curb and flew up, landing in the schools parking lot. He finally came to a stop and
opened his door, running for the school, leaving his keys in the ignition and the car still running.
Flying through the front doors of the school, he raced down the halls, hoping to find where the student government meeting was going on. "Lacie, Lacie Kent! Where are you?!"

The people of the student government room were pouring out and running into the halls. Lacie was still standing in shock when she heard her name being called.
She shook her head and stumbled to the hall to see Malach screaming for her. "Are you alright? What's
going on?"

At the youth centre and the high school, everything suddenly and mysteriously went silent. The absence of noise made the horrific sight of the rain of fire
even worse somehow.
In addition, Erik, Kane, Lacie, Malach and Zoe became aware of something else. Time seemed to slow and crystalise around them... moments before a strange tingling sensation pervaded their bodies, and then they vanished. At the Command Centre A few seconds after taking them from Angel Grove, five columns of white energy deposited Erik, Kane, Lacie, Malach and Zoe in a roughly circular chamber with strange computer banks in front of them and to either side. Four pillars framed with glowing blue and green rings reached up towards an unseen ceiling. The walls were black with white and yellow lights inset like stars. Strangest of all were the teenagers' company; a bipedal red and gold robot with a flattened double-dome head, and behind the central computer, floating in a blue column, was a bald blue head. "Welcome young humans" the head intoned, "Please do not be alarmed. You are safe here. I am Zordon; an interdimensional wizard caught in a time warp. I have brought you here because the world is in terrible danger and you are its best hope" |

The last thing Erik could remember was standing at the door to the Youth Center with a fire extinguisher in his hand when the flames flickering appeared to
slow. Then suddenly, over the span of just a few milliseconds, he was surrounded by a strange white haze and the fire extinguisher was gone. A strange tingling
sensation reverberated through his body and he began to feel as if he were becoming intangible. His suspiciions were instantly confirmed when he began to rise
and passed right through the very solid roof of the Youth Center. Once through the roof, the glowing mass of strange energy that now enveloped him then veered
north and sped over the the vast distance of terrain below. For the very brief moment that he emerged from the center, he caught a glimpse of the whole city,
as far as he could see was in flames. But that soon was behind him, literally as he shot like a bullet over Angel Grove Natl' Forest, then the mountains,
then across miles of desert to the north. Finally, descending toward a structure with the weirdest architecture he had ever seen. He materialized inside only
to find that 4 of the others that were at the Youth Center just minutes ago were there as well, Lacie, Zoe, Kane, & Malach. He started to wonder why they
were all there, and in fact, where "there" was before he noticed his surroundings. It was like something out a mish mash of several scifi movies,
plus, there was a robot. An honest to goodness actual robot. Erik was speechless when this giant blue head introduced himself.

What the hell was in that smoothie?!?! One second she's having a totally normal day which turns slightly abnormal as the boy she's crushing on takes
notice of her, and the next second giant fireballs rain from the sky and she's whisked away to talk to a floating head in a jar! Whatever the new
ingredient was the owner certainly wasn't charging enough! People would pay billions for a high like this. She could see the drug lords now if they got
their hands on this stuff. hmmm so this is what it was like to be high. She'd never wanted to do drugs. Could you go to prison because someone slipped
you a micky in your smoothie? She hoped not. Prison outfits were ugly orange! Lacie looked terrible in orange!
The booming voice of the head echoed off the walls and Lacie's eyes went wide with understanding. She wasn't high, she was crazy! Yep she'd gone nuts. It happened so fast she must have missed it. When people went nuts in the movies they always seemed to break down and laugh a lot. Nothing about this seemed funny though. Odd..... very odd.... okay totally unbelievably odd..... but not funny. It is a bit of a funny thing being crazy though, Lacie thought as she looked at the giant floating head that appeared to be talking to her. How cute there was even a little robot in this hallucination. This probably explained the giant fire balls. The city wasn't in trouble, Lacie was just mental. Yep that had to be it. She'd gone loony. Maybe they would put her in a nice cell with padded rooms. She'd always thought it would be fun to bounce off the walls, kinda like those bounce houses everybody played in when they were children. Her own little bounce house. How lovely. The straight jackets would certainly need some work though. They clashed with just about everything!

Now... What did your mother tell you... ABOUT DRINKING CAFFEINE!?!?
Kane's mind began to race at the speed of light, as it attempted to rationalize the sequence of events that had just occured.
Suffice to say it wasn't going to be the easiest of tasks. Ok, meteorites descending from a blackened sky. While being a rather apocalyptic image, was at least somewhat possible for the average human mind to process. But, when immediately followed up by a giant floating head, a seemingly autonomous robot that looked like it had been lifted from Jim Henson's warehouse, and what appeared to be a hijacked Star Trek set... It all became just a little bit overwhelming. 'As we enter... The Twilight Zone.' He breathed, raising a hand to cradle his head, and the broken mind now residing within it. 'Doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo...'

The whole thing was just... unbelievable. The rain of fire, the weird time thing, the tingling that had gone right through her and suddenly dropped her in
this... place.
Zoe didn't know what to do. Almost every part of her was pushing for her to scream, but there was something else... some buzz. There was power here. Oh dear Gods, was there power here. Despite her perfectly understandable shock, she knew beyond rational thought that she was safe here. "I can feel..." she said breathlessly, her right hand moving to her pendant. "Oh my Goddess, the power of this place! It's like thousands of sacred circles all mushed together" The power was distracting her. It was hard to focus on what the head; Zordon, was saying.

Reasoning the whole situation out, Erik started to feel releived. While weird, these beings didn't strike him as dangerous. "I
don't think we're in danger here. Think about it, if they wanted to hurt us, they would have just left us where the fireballs were hitting. They
actually saved us."

It was simple enough. He was away from danger as were some of his friends. No one was trying to hurt any of them and a promise of safety had been given. All
the signs pointed to them being safe. Doing a quick head count, he noted that there were five of them all together. Himself, Lacie, Zoe, Erik and Kane. Then
there was the robot and the giant head..... Zordon as he called himself.
Taking a step forward, Malach spoke. "Zordon, due to what you claim to be, I would acuse you of being the cause of the fireballs, but due to the fact you brought us here, to safety, and say our world is in danger..... well, I would like to think you're one of the good guys. What I now wonder is why you chose us and what you want with us."

Malach's words prompted Alpha to raise his arms in alarm, but Zordon merely chuckled.
"You have answered your own question, young Malach by questioning me so" Zordon intoned. "The five of you are the perfect protectors of this world, whether you realise it yet or not. When Morphinius and Demona attacked Angel Grove, I had Alpha search the world for five young humans who best embodied the traits necessary to save it. Each of you will be granted access to a universe of power drawn from the ancient creatures you call dinosaurs" |

'Right-o!' Kane couldn't help but find something delightfully amusing about Zordon's response to
Malach's question, reacting to it in a rather interesting manner by putting on a mock cockney accent and advancing towards the imprisoned sage.
'Might I ask ye gov', who be these Morphinius and Demona of whom ye speak?'

"Look behind you at the Viewing Globe," Zordon instructed "All your questions will be
answered in the images you see"
Once the teens had all turned to look at the Viewing Globe; a large crystal ball atop a small pillar, images began to appear in it; as clear as day. First was a muscular humanoid demon with flesh the colour of raw meat. Wicked bones spikes jutted from his knees and elbows, shorter spikes protruded from his knuckles, and his fingers ended with razor-sharp talons. His bare feet had similar talons on the toes and wicked spurs on the heals. Bull-like horns rose from his bald forehead above glowing red eyes. His ears fanned out like a bat's, and his mouth was filled with glistening fangs. "This is Morphinius" Zordon intoned as the image of the demon appeared. "He is the oldest and most powerful creature of evil that the universe has ever seen. All tyrants throughout the universe are said to have been spawned from his vileness. Recently, he and his bride Demona attacked and conquered the planet Theon" In the Viewing Globe, the image of Morphinius is joined by that of a shapely female humanoid with red skin, wide, pointed ears, thick blood-red hair, and crystals set in her forehead. She is completely covered from the neck down in tight black leather, except for her fingers, which end with sharp, but well kept nails. "Demona is a conniving demon from another dimension who stole the powers of her rivals in order to become Morphinius' bride. She is a devastatingly powerful sorceress and has a penchant for fire and cruelty. Together, they have so far proved to be impossible to defeat. At Theon they recruited the warlord Deevast to serve as their General. Deevast is powerful and cruel, and commands armies of putties; combat drones molded from magic clay and given life so that they may fight for whoever controls them. In addition, the conquered peoples of worlds that Morphinius attacks are converted into mindless slaves with no souls or free will. I do not know if you will encounter the slave creatures, but you will certainly encounter the rest of Morphinius' forces" As Zordon spoke, a tall, bald, muscular humanoid with dark blue skin, a Death's Head mask, glowing white tattoos appeared in the Viewing Globe. He was armed with a deadly double-headed axe and clad in a black vest, black trousers, black boots and black cape. In raid succession he was shown firing lightning bolts from his axe as well as fighting several ninjas. Next came images of the Putties. Humanoid and clad in grey jumpsuits with one to three glowing red stripes etched onto either side, their hands and faces were grotesque; looking like they had been molded from clay that had not set properly. The final creatures depicted were the slave creatures; androgenous, humanoids that appeared to be made from impossibly smooth white plastic. They were hairless, and their faces were featureless except from soulless black eyes. |

Lacie laughed as Kane started making twilight zone noises. It was already established that she was nuts so sure why not laugh? Actually being crazy was
getting more funny by the second.... or at least it was until she turned around to look at the snowball globe thingy. The evil gross monsters depicted there
were nothing compared to the soulless people. Lacie felt her breath catch in her throat. What if she wasn't crazy? What if there were really people like
that suffering in the world? What if the monster under the bed wasn't really the worst thing to be scared of at night? Suddenly the floating head
didn't seem so wild.
"We have to help those people." Her voice was tiny, squeaky and frightened but full of determination. She didn't like watching the people suffer and not helping. |

Turning toward the device that Zordon refered to as the "viewing globe", Erik's first thought was "I want one. I wonder if it has HDMI hookup for a blu ray player." Then seeing the images of creatures that they were to defend the world against, feelings of inadequacy began to fill him. "Ok, I understand your choice of the others, they're skilled enough to handle themselves in a fight, but I'm confused at your choice of me. I have no experience in that area." |

Zoe watched the images on the Viewing Globe with horrified fascination. It was hard to believe that such horrors could exist, but the psychic energy of this
place was filled with honesty and sincerity. Zordon certainly believed that what he said and showed was the truth.

As he looked upon the rather disturbing set of images that had manifested on the Viewing Globe, Kane snapped out of his momentary bout of "insanity".
While the cynic in him desperately wanted to write the whole thing off as a mass hallucination of some sort, the sight of innocent people being stripped of their sentience and identity for the sake of a tyrannical overlord stirred his inner sense of justice. While he still found it a little difficult to take the whole situation seriously, he couldn't stomach the thought of standing idly by and letting those he cared about, or anyone for that matter, suffer such a fate. The sight of Zoe taking charge so impressively also helped him come to his senses... How cliche! He remarked internally, before flashing a grin.

Lacie heard everyone speaking up in different ways. She was more along the lines of wondering if this was real, and why the heck the floating head dude had
picked her. She was an air headed cheerleader prom queen. How was she supposed to save the world? It was about time to end this craziness.
"You know there is a sale at the mall and I'm missing it. Why don't you guys just drop me off at the mall on your way to saving the world. Don't worry I won't tell anyone what I saw.... like they'd believe me anyways." |

His fists clenched and his muscles tightened. Malach's eyes glared at the globe, a frown was burned into his now hard face. Turning around, his hard strong
