As he said that, a flash of light deposited a fist-sized device in the right hand of each of the teens. Centred in each was a golden coin baring the emblem of a prehistoric creature. "Those are you Power Morphers; the keys to your power. When you are in danger, raise them to the sky calling the name of your dinosaur, and you will morph into a superhuman fighting force known to one and all as the Power Rangers" Before anyone could say a word, spinning red & yellow lights like on police cars lit up on each computer bank, accompanied by a blaring alarm. "Aye yi yi yi yi!" Alpha cried, "It's another attack" "Power Rangers, you must act swiftly" Zordon intoned, solemnly "The rain of fire has stopped but now Morphinius has sent Deevast and a force of Putties to attack Angel Grove and spread further terror among its inhabitants. Listen carefully" The column of energy around Zordon seemed to glow more brightly as he continued. "Malach; bold and powerful. You shall be the Red Ranger, powered by the Tyrannosaurus" A bolt of energy leapt from Zordon to Malach's morpher, transforming him into the Red Ranger. "Kane; gallant and kind. You shall be the Black Ranger, powered by the Mastodon" As with Malach, a bolt of energy transformed Kane into the Black Ranger. "Erik; patient and smart. You shall be the Blue Ranger, powered by the Triceratops" A third bolt triggered Erik's transformation into the Blue Ranger. "Lacie; fearless and agile. You shall be the Yellow Ranger, powered by the Sabre-tooth Tiger" Bolt number four struck Lacie's morpher, transforming her into the Yellow Ranger. "Zoe; wise and intuitive. You shall be the Pink Ranger, powered by the Pterodactyl" The final bolt transformed Zoe into the Pink Ranger. For a moment, all five Rangers stood tall in their sleek helmets jumpsuits, Lacie's and Zoe's sporting mini-skirts with white trim. "The time has come, Power Rangers. Go now, and may the Power protect you"

Posts: 24 04/18/09 18:55:15 Blue Ranger Brains of the Group	The device in Erik's hand intrigued him, his first impulse was start thinking about taking it apart to try and see how it works, but given the current situation, he thought better of it. At any rate, attempting to reverse engineer technology of this level could be extremely dangerous. Just then, a bolt of energy from Zordon's tube struk him. It didn't hurt, but it did startle him for half a second. It was a strange sensation having your clothing instantly transformed at the molecular level, even to Erik's most obscure knowledge, no technology on Earth could even attempt such a feat. The device that he held a second ago was gone. A quick glance down, he could see that it was now in place on his costume's belt. Moving his hands to look at the new clothing he found himself wearing, reaching up to his head, a helmet now encircled his head competely. The material looked like ordinary blue spandex, but whether it was spandex, or some alien fabric he couldn't tell at a glance. With his now glove clad fingers he explored every intricate detail of the suit, the texture of which seemed remarkably similar to spandex, or at least what Kane imagined spandex to feel like... Mastodon huh? He grinned sheeplishly beneath his helmet, his hands coming to rest atop it, as he pondered Zordon's words. Gallant, kind... Wooly? The grin expanded further, and became accompanied by a light blush, as he swiveled his head to observe the others' suits, Zoe's in particular. No time for that now! He resolved, cutting his attempt at ogling short. Time for this gallant Mastodon to save the world!

Posts: 25 04/19/09 16:35:03 Yellow Ranger Power Prom Queen Nabria Taiving White Spirit Wolf	Lacie felt sick to her stomach. She didn't want to be here. She didn't want to save the world. All she wanted to do was go back to bed, wake up, and find out this was all a very strange dream that she could forget. The large head zapped them and in seconds they were standing in hideous multicolored jumpsuits, complete with helmets. Lacie groaned and tried not to think about how thin the material felt, and how very large those fireballs had looked. Had the big floating head thing considered they could get crushed in these things? She hoped that she just misunderstood the nature of the power, and that the jumpsuits were really well insulated or something. Otherwise... well she didn't want to think about it.

The power of this place was such that it was taking nearly all of her discipline, and she had to try to regulate her breathing. Then came her morpher. Whether by accident or design it appeared in her projective hand. That was a very good thing. If it was as powerful as Zordon said, and from the ambent energy it surely was, holding it unprepared in her receptive hand would have given her such a huge buzz that she would have been knocked flat on her back. Psychic awareness could be dangerous at times. 'If Zordon really understands us like he says he does, then I'm so not the most intuitive one' she thought as Zordon listed traits of each of them, and activated their powers. The energy blast was sensational. It was like a warm bubble bath with added essential oils and scents. It was the magic of a spring breeze in the park. The scent of the beach, a warm feeling all over, the buzz of casting a circle. It was all this and more. Momentarily overwhelmed, Zoe arched her back and let out a surprised gasp. Her whole body was tingling in every good way she'd ever felt. "Oh my Goddess" she whispered breathlessly...

Posts: 11 04/22/09 20:51:56 Red Ranger Fearless Leader Friend to the End	'T-rex, huh?' Malach thought just before the bolt of energy lept from Zordon to the power morpher in his hand. In an instant he was transformed into the Red Ranger. Instantly, he felt like he was invincible. Suddenly he knew that all the years he had spent training for various sports would never match up to the power he now had. Looking around at the others, he somehow knew that he was the leader of their new group. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see that he could lead teams to victory. Then, looking down at his own suit he noticed how every chiseled feature of his body was shown in perfect detail. Grinning behind his mask, he had the urge to say something like "It's clobberin' time!".... but he refrained. Instead he said. After a few seconds they rematerialised in Downtown Angel Grove, standing in the remains of Main Street with burning buildings, burning vehicles, and burning craters all around. Amid the carnage, ordinary people were crying out for help, tending to the wounded as best they could, and trying to cope with the enormity of the situation. As well as the roar of the flames and the cries of the people, sirens could be heard all around. The emergency services were trying to do their jobs. From out of nowhere, a wicked double-headed axe flew through the air and embedded itself in the back of a man who was trying to dig a young woman out of a mound of rubble. Then a strange mumbling, gurgling sound began all around the area, just before dozens of Putties swarmed out from every nook and cranny to surround the Rangers and the people... Deevast cried out as he surveyed the devastation from atop a mostly-intact skyscraper; one of the few to survive the rain of fire. While his Putties swarmed below, terrorising the already shocked victims of his masters' first strike, the canny warlord knew it would be a matter of moments before Zordon played his hand. Sure enough, five streaks of energy raced across the sky from the north and came to the ground below, resolving themselves into the Power Rangers. Laughing, Deevast decided to make his introduction. He spotted a mortal man digging in the rubble to rescue a young woman. It was so cute, yet so futile. Taking careful aim, the warlord threw his axe, killing the poor human outright; an abject lesson to the brand new Rangers. He saw the Putties swarming into the hellish arena and then launched himself downwards, his black cape flapping behind him as he fell over fifty floors and landed unscathed, severely denting the pavement. "So you are Zordon's little heroes?" he asked, almost conversationally, "How does it feel to be thrust into something so much bigger and more dangerous than you ever imagined? How does it feel to see your city burn? To see a man murdered in cold blood? To taste combat and the wrath of ancient evil? Perhaps in a few minutes you can tell me how it feels to die. Posts: 13 04/29/09 15:34:51 Black Ranger Caring and Dramatic	Behind the visor of his helmet, Kane regarded the scene before him with a look of abject terror, mouth agape and eyes widened. But he remained calm and composed as best he could, folding his arms tightly across his chest as if to give himself a bear hug. As he witnessed Deevast's elegant descent to the streets, followed by his subsequent slaughter of an innocent man in cold blood, he felt his every cell pulsate with white hot fury. He wanted nothing more than to charge headlong into the fray, and pound every last cubic millimetre of blood (or whatever manner of substance gave him life) into the pavement beneath his feet. But as he saw the armada of Putties now assembling around him, he decided to settle for them. 'Get the hell off my planet!' He cried, feeling a beastial howl sound out in the depths of his soul as the spirit of the Mastodon flowed through him. Rushing forward with all his might, he slammed his body directly into a small group of Putties that had dared to advance towards him. With a garbled whimper, each fell to the floor like a stone. 'Whoa...' He froze in place, staring at his hands as he became overpowered by a sense of awe at what he had just done. In all his life, he had never felt such strength, such raw power and righteous fury... It made him feel nothing short of incredible. Beaming, he turned to another group of three Putties. Lightly flexing his right hand in cocky gesture, he beckoned them to approach him. Naturally, they did so, taking no heed of what had just befallen their comrades. He dispatched them just as easily, digging his fist deep into the abdomen of one, before grabbing the other two by the arms as they attempted to strike him and hurling them both unceremoniously to the floor.

Posts: 24 05/01/09 18:11:40 Blue Ranger Brains of the Group	Upon rematerializing, Erik only had time to stare in shock as an innocent man was impaled with a flying battle axe. Though he still thought he wasn't fit to do this, he was in the middle of it now, and there was nothing he could do but try for all he could. Suddenly a few squads of those gray things rushed at them. "What am I doing here? I'm no superhero. I can't even fight." the thought filled his mind. But then it happened. As a number of putties charged him, he attempted his best imitation of one of a fighting stance, like those he had seen so many other students perform in the Youth Center. Expecting a clumsy attempt, he was suprised to see himself executing it perfectly. It's hard to explain, but it was almost as if the mental commands to his body were coming from somewhere else, yet from his own mind. It seemed to Erik that as soon as his brain fired the mental signals controlling his actions they were being sent through a sort of filter, for lack of a better term, and being translated into movements appropriate to the situation at hand. It was freaky, but he would soon be glad of this assistance. The first putty was knocked on it's back with a front kick just before the second one was dropped with a clothesline maneuver. Jumping into the third one, he kicked it with both feet, sending it flying backward into another mass of putties. "Did I actually just do THAT?!!!"

Though she could feel the protective blanket of power around herself, Zoe still gasped in horror at the sight of the carnage. A moment later the axe killed the poor innocent, and without thinking she found herself clapping her right hand over the mouth part of her helmet to stifle a scream. "Gaia, give me strength" she prayed, her hand still over her helmet's mouth-plate, as Deevast started on his little tirade and the putties began to swarm. 'Pterodactyls were airborne creatures' she thought, trying to get her breathing under control so she could focus, 'That means Air is the right element to focus on' A small smile crept across her face as Kane and Erik tapped into the power and engaged the onrushing putties. Without hesitation, Zoe turned to the east and traced a pentagram before her with the index finger of her right hand. "Please come to me, Air, and fill me with your power" she murmured. A soothing wind that only she could feel rushed into and around her, a moment before a putty tried to grab her with its oversized clay hands. Feeling empowered all over again, she danced back a step to avoid the grab before launching an adder-quick thrust under the putty's left arm, jabbing two fingers into the armpit. A familiar female voice in the back of her mind told her to trust her instincts and that she would always be with her. Instinct told her to kick to flailing putty in the butt before it could turn around, so she did, knocking the mindless clay drone flat on its face. The glowing red stripes on its sides seemed to have grown dimmer from the two blows, but there was no time to ponder that as another putty surprised her with a punch to the kidney. The pain of the blow was much less than it should have been. It still hurt, but Zoe knew that her Ranger powers had cushioned the blow enough for it not to be debilitating. With skill at least two belts higher than she should have possessed, she twirled in place and struck the second putty just above the left hip with a beauty of a roundhouse kick, delivered faster and harder than any she had managed before. It sent the putty sprawling to the side, though the drone rolled and came up easily. As with the first, its stripes seemed dimmer after the hit it had taken...

They were hideous and made her want to throw up. Her first reaction was to run, and... well that was her second reaction too. With little effort Lacie began a series of back flips to give herself some room from the ugly things. Her mind was still full of the innocent man getting slaughtered that she had witnessed. That alone was enough to cause her to fight the desire to throw up and kick a few of the grey dudes away. They felt hard even though they looked like they would be squishy and clay like. That made them a tad less gross she decided so she punched the next one and to her amazement it fell down just like some creep from a video games. Cool!

Posts: 11 05/12/09 14:39:31 Red Ranger Fearless Leader Friend to the End	One moment he was in the weird room that came straight from one of his dad's sci-fi shows and the next he was downtown. All around him, the weird lookin' grey "blob men" stood. They radiated a hunger, an aura of excitement much like the one he could feel from his team before a big game. It was then that he saw the large blue skinned wrestler dude. Instantly, his mind was on one thing.... taking Deevast out. Unfortunately, while he was contemplating his options, Deevast let the putties loose. Immediately the swarmed towards the power rangers. Without thinking, he grabbed the nearest one and flung it towards others. Just like that, five putties were down for the count. From his left, a fist came in. With barely a hair's width amount of time left to spare, Malach's arm came up, blocked the attack and then slammed his fist into the chest of the putty. Turning around just in time, he quickly wove back and forth, dodging punches from another putty before smashing his forearm into the putty's face. The putty dropped only to be replaced by another. Ducking a swing from the putty, he jabbed his left hand into the putty's stomach and then smashed his right fist into its face as it doubled over. A hit came from his left, square in the side of his face. Before he could respond, a kick landed in his stomach and he dropped to the ground. Rolling just in time, he avoided the putty as it came down from a jump. Spinning back up onto his feet, he knocked the putty's legs out from under it and watched it drop to the ground. 'One more down,' he thought. Blocking another blow, he jabbed his fist into the side of another putty (unfortunately not as hard as he would have liked). The putty backed away a few steps and then advanced and tried to hit Malach again. Malach, however, blocked the putty's jab, grabbed its arm and then slammed his elbow into the putty's face. Turning around, he was once again assaulted. Other putty threw out a few quick jabs (which Malach blocked). Without much room to maneuver, he grabbed the putty around the waist, bent forward and slammed his foot into the putty's face. Letting go, the putty fell to the ground.

It was obvious that they were new to their powers. The way they questioned the increased combat prowess also made it clear that they had not all been chosen for their ability in a stand-up fight. A curious decision but not one that concerned him. The black and red rangers seemed to be trying to advance on him. So be it. With a casual beckoning gesture made in the direction of the dead man, Deevast recalled his axe to his hand. "Looking for me, Black Ranger?" he called, then leapt into the air, clearing the distance to Kane in a single bound, and slashing at his chest. Rather than cutting the boy in two, the blade triggered the magical defensive energies inherent to an energised ranger suit, causing sparks to fly from the point of impact. At the same time, all the downed putties got back to their feet, moving a little more slowly now that their stripes were darker and dimmer, but they were still able to fight... Posts: 13 05/12/09 16:07:43 Black Ranger Caring and Dramatic	Kane made to cringe as he felt the dull blade of Deevast's axe begin to dig into his chest, but found it unnecessary. As the blow landed, an impulse of energy surged out from the enchanted fabrics of his suit, dulling any sensation of pain and turning an attack that, under any other circumstances, would have surely cleaved him in two, into one that merely sent him flying several metres into the air. 'That was a fun trip.' He commented, finally landing with a violent crash. Slowly, he rose back to his feet, regaining his composure with a few mandatory neck cracks and shoulder rolls. 'Shame that I didn't get any souvenirs.' A look of bemusement flashed across his concealed face, as he watched the group of putties that he'd previously engaged rise again with... Slightly renewed vigour, and begin to make their way towards him, doubtless looking to extract vengeance for their defeat. Fighting back the urge to make a quip about Resident Evil or some other non-descript zombie-horror franchise, he sprang towards them, choosing to momentarily ignore Deevast. These guys do certainly make some interesting vocalizations... He noted, yet another garbled whimper sounding out as he came to crash into one of them with a powerful headbutt. He then quickly did away with the rest of their number, launching one into a nearby mound of rubble with a high kick to the chest (his eyes widening with wonder, as any man's would, at the realization that his legs could actually bend that far), then performing a pirouette and bending his knees gracefully, before uppercutting another straight in the jaw, then jamming his elbow into the crotch of one directly beside it. Naturally, he derived a sense of guilty pleasure from felling the latter... On satisfying himself that they wouldn't come back a second time (hopefully), he refocused his attention on Deevast, and made a beeline towards him, making sure that this time he would remain ever watchful of his axe. Leaping over yet another group of Putties that had tried to intercept him, he reached his target, making an attempt to deliver a swift flying kick straight to his head. Though she had no doubts that her Ranger powers would protect her, she wasn't exactly certain how long she could keep fighting. Instinctively, she side-stepped and pushed an incoming kick away, though the attacking putty still managed to catch her shoulder with a flailing slap. A second tried to capitalise on the momentary distraction but caught a fist in the throat for its trouble and stumbled backwards, flailing its arms and impeding another of its comrades. Knowing that diplomacy was irrelevent on these creatures, Zoe pressed the attack, striking that same putty with a rapid three-kick combination attack all with the same foot, before finishing it with another punch to the throat. Each kick reduced the intensity of the putty's glowing stripes until they faded completely to black and the throat punch caused it to turn to dust. "Ok, was that a weak spot or something?" Zoe blurted out loud. Another putty, this one with a rock in place of its right hand answered her with a hammering blow to the stomach that launched her through the air. Sparks flew from the impact as her ranger suit did its best to cushion the attack. "That hurt" she moaned as she landed on her butt.

Posts: 25 05/19/09 18:43:50 Yellow Ranger Power Prom Queen Nabria Taiving White Spirit Wolf	The evil ugly clay things just kept coming out of nowhere. It was a good thing Lacie took gymnastics. Her flips and cartwheels were enough to keep her one step ahead of the evil dudes but she wasn't exactly helping the situation. Mostly all she was doing was running away from the grey things, and making sure to stay very far away from head honcho guy. He didn't look very inviting at all though she guessed that was the point of an evil being. She paused, gasping with a stitch in her side and groaned when the putties caught up with her again. Without really thinking she flipped one of them over and punched another one. It actually had some effect, which was suprising as she had never fought before. She didn't want to push it though. She went back to the backflips top speed but her stamina was failing. Eventually she'd have to stand and fight for more then a second. Just the thought of that terrified her.

Posts: 24 05/21/09 15:08:40 Blue Ranger Brains of the Group	More of the gray things kept coming. Side stepping and flipping the first one to the left and into a wall, a second unseen one slashed Erik across the chest with what appeared to be it's arm that had been shaped into the form of a blade. Sparks flew from the blow as Erik flipped and landed on his back. It hurt, but not as much as one would think, and indeed, not as much as it would have had he not been wearing his Ranger suit. Erik looked at his chest, expecting to see a huge gash dripping with blood, but was suprised to see no kind of mark, other than a slight soot stain. The sparks must have been bits of metallic fibers being ripped from the suit as it sustained damage, though it appeared to the naked eye that there was no damage at all. He reasoned that the morphic abilities of the material automatically replaced any missing fibers and repaired any structural damage to the fabric to maintain its resilience for continued protection.. Unthinkingly, Erik quickly recovered and leg sweeped the one that had gotten the lucky shot. It landing on it's own back and it's red stripes noticibly fading. Upon getting back up, the putty seemed to move more sluggishly and clumsier. A quick roundhouse knocked it back about 10 feet, this time it's stripes fading to black upon landing. It lied motionless for a few seconds before crumbling to dust & blowing away. Then it occured to him. "The stripes, the red fades when we hurt these things. It's like a health bar sorta." That was until he fell flat on his face, a weird.... dull feeling in his lower back. Rolling over, a putty slammed its foot right where his head had just been. Blocking another kick to his chest, he pushed himself up and headbutted the putty. As it fell to the ground, he watched it crumple. He looked around and saw all the putties he had just fought, as their stripes had faded. It was gonna be one long fight.

It was a good kick; a worthy blow, but where a Putty would have been knocked flying, Deevast merely staggered back a couple of steps. "Not bad, Black Ranger" he said approvingly, holding his axe across his body, ready to be used for attack or defence. "You might yet prove to be a worthy foe. Shall we continue?" He didn't wait for an answer. Instead he launched himself at Kane, his axe blurring through a flurry of attacks. Though some would be blocked, at least one would be sure to strike home. Once his attacking flurry was complete, Deevast took a step back and swung his axe in the direction of Malach. Blue and white lightning bolts leapt forth from the axe, striking Malach, the area around him, and a handful of Putties that were too close.
